This authentic Louis Vuitton trunk case, circa 1880's, can be considered to be the first Louis Vuitton branded handbag/purse manufactured. It features a stripped (Rayee) canvas, all brass hardware, and leather trims. Includes original tray with blue fabric criss cross quilting interior. Close to a 150 years old, this genuine piece of our late modern history marks the early beginning of one of the most iconic accessory, the Louis Vuitton purse hand bag.
Excellent condition considering age – Wears and marks, signs of use and travels. A very rare and unique format. Great size to be used as a storage element or decoration/conversation piece.
