This authentic Louis Vuitton steamer trunk, circa 1918’s, features monogram canvas, all brass hardware, and leather trims. Top of the line model. This trunk use to belong to a famous US General and World War 1 hero, Charles L. McCawley.
In September 1918, McCawley accompanied Major General Commandant George Barnett to France on a tour of inspection where he acquired the trunk to later return the following year to the US via ship.
Good condition considering age – Wears and marks, signs of use and travels. Unique collectable, great size to be used as a coffee table, conversation piece or storage element.
