This authentic Louis Vuitton “Rayée” (striped in French) mail trunk, circa 1880’s, features a double brass lock and striped canvas, leather trims and all brass hardware. Includes original trays and compartements. Top of the line model. Four digits serial number 8669, one of the first Louis Vuitton trunk ever produced by the newly brand about 140 years ago. In excellent condition considering age – Wears and marks, signs of use and travels. A true collector piece. Early Louis Vuitton trunks in such pristine condition are increasingly rare to find.
